Our inspiration for the idea came from our iteration processes and visits to the playgrounds. We noticed that traditional playgrounds lack content that could keep older kids engaged. We wanted to focus in certain age group and we decided on 10-13. In this age group the children start to develop their own identities and current pass time activities may lead to lack of social contacts and physical activities. These kind of behavioural models can stick with the children and cause problems in longer term.
What it does
Our solution is network of ArCubes. The ArCube is gathering sensor data that is converted to projected content with our platform. The user can engage with the solution in various ways. We wanted to create example cases that show how the end user can find different kind of ways for self expression and utilizing the core platform solutions.
ARcubes can be be used with a cross-platform way, for example you can connect to ARcubes together and share gaming experiences across the world. You can also create your own content at the playground and share your creations and achievements with your friends.
How I built it
The go to market solution would be integrated to existing Lappset Halo products. The integration would happen by using the current building blocks to generate a space that has controlled light environment. Inside the space would be two ToF-cameras and projectors. It wouldn't need additional sensor integration.
Challenges I ran into
Finding the focus and the main usergroup that we targeted.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We created something that everyone can stand behind of as team. We see huge amount of possibilities for our solution and are excited that we came so far over the weekend.
What I learned
Diversity of the team creates opportunities and challenges, but with diplomatic solutions things can move forward.
What's next for ARcube
