Inspiration
The inspiration behind Archy - AI Product Management Assistant sprang from a desire to tackle the inefficiencies and challenges plaguing Agile project management teams. Observing teams grappling with backlog clutter, misprioritized tasks, and overlooked insights led us to envision a tool that not only streamlines project management tasks but also empowers teams with AI-driven insights, enhancing productivity and decision-making.
What it does
Archy serves as an AI-powered right hand to Agile teams, seamlessly integrating with product management applications, like Jira for example, to automate Product Backlog Item (PBI) creation, manage epics and user stories, generate acceptance criteria etc, In addition to that it is envisioned to provide assistance to scrum masters, developers, QAs.... Beyond task automation, Archy provides real-time project summaries and actionable insights, enabling teams to preemptively address potential issues and capitalize on opportunities to drive project success. Of course there are other features waiting in the backlog, with goal of supporting smaller teams and companies, as well as large enterprises with multiple projects and multiple tools.
How we built it
We've started with a general idea to help teams strugling with agile practices. Coming from institutions that are in processes of digital transformation we witnessed how people are struggling with concepts of agile delivery, scrum and other new and for them challenging ways of working. We decided to go forward with integration to Jira, as well established tool for project management, for small teams and companies, as well as for large enterprises. First goal was to deliver something that will help on ideation of a project and assisting to setup project baseline. And ideas just kept popping out. We defined our MVP that we want to release and moved forward. Iteratively, with couple of refactorings later we have an MVP live, in production.
Challenges we ran into
From product ideation perspective, challenge is to keep focus and deliver, what we beilived would be great start. We struggled not to keep adding features, that would lead to endless development, but to focus on limited scope for initial release. From development perspective, as AI is highely dinamic area, challenge was to maintain consistency in what AI shoud do, and how to keep application functionning with that sort of uncertanty. Architectural challenge was to keep architectural landscape and environment good enough, and not to over-engineer, but on the other hand design it in such a way so that it enables integrations with other project management systems, with different models, for specific purposes.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We've managed to build great product on good foundations. It has great traction and we are greatly motivated and excited. Hopefully more and more people will see the value of our efforts.
What we learned
Keep to focus, and deliver what is needed.
What's next for Archy - AI Product Management Assistant
We have great features planned for delivery, and are in the process of collecting user feedback. We will definetly expand on AI model capabilities, in terms of contiuous learning. We will expand on tools integrated with the system and make our offering more diverse in terms of usability.
