Inspiration

Physical collections and personal archives are highly vulnerable to time, damage, and isolation. Rare books, vintage vinyl records, artwork, and family heirlooms often sit hidden away in boxes, completely detached from the digital world. We wanted to bridge this gap. Our inspiration was to create a digital sanctuary that gives analog items a permanent, structured, and beautifully designed digital life, making personal archiving accessible to everyone.

What it does

Archivista is a specialized cloud service for digitizing, cataloging, and curating personal archives. It allows users to seamlessly transfer every piece of an analog collection into a digital form. There are two tabs in the app : Curate — users’ personal curation space, where they can upload the items, edit descriptions and manage their collections and the whole archive; Explore — a tile feed with other people’s random collections and items. Here also are two subtabs : Gallery — feed and Selects — items and collections that users liked.

How we built it

We engineered Archivista by leveraging MeDo.dev as our primary AI development collaborator to achieve rapid deployment.

Frontend: Built a responsive interface featuring a horizontal collection slider and a complex, dynamic vertical masonry grid for the public feed.

Backend: Integrated robust cloud storage and database systems entirely through MeDo's structural prompting to securely host digital assets and user records.

Architecture: Implemented rigorous screen-to-screen routing and conditional workflows, ensuring that custom user-defined attributes map flawlessly from creation modals to final item views.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Zero to Production with MeDo.dev: We successfully skipped days of boilerplate backend setup by utilizing advanced technical prompting to ship a fully functional, cloud-native application.

Premium User Experience: We created a highly fluid UI that combines deep archival functionality with a modern, engaging discovery interface.

What we learned

This project demonstrated the true efficiency of AI-driven development. Working with MeDo.dev proved that fast-paced software engineering relies heavily on writing flawless, unambiguous technical specifications. We mastered the art of structuring data models, UI components, and conditional routing logic in a way that allows AI models to execute production-grade code with maximum precision.

What's next for Archivista — manage your digital collection

The next step for Archivista is intelligence and collaboration. We plan to introduce AI-powered optical character recognition (OCR) and auto-tagging to automatically extract metadata from uploaded photos of analog items. We will also implement collaborative archiving, allowing multiple curators, families, or institutions to co-manage, edit, and sync a shared digital collection in real-time.
