Inspiration

Every fantasy adventure starts in a tavern. It is where the party first meets, where the quest gets handed out, and where the heroes return to celebrate. We kept coming back to a simple question: what about the person who stays behind the bar? Arcane Tavern grew out of our love for two things, cozy management games and the warmth of the classic DnD adventuring genre. We wanted to tell the story from the other side of the counter. You are a wizard who has hung up the staff and retired from adventuring to open a tavern in the town where your own party first formed. Instead of slaying the dragon yourself, you pour the ale, cook the meals, and quietly shape the next generation of heroes through the advice you give them. We were inspired by the calm, no-pressure feeling of games people play to unwind, and we wanted to add a layer of heart to it: the sense that your small, cozy tavern is the humble origin of something much bigger.
