Arcadium

Inspiration

As soon as I saw there was a game track, I instantly wanted to build something related to games. At first I thought about creating one big game, but then I remembered those old Play Store apps that used to contain hundreds of mini games inside one single app. I used to love how you could just tap and instantly play something completely different every time.

That idea became the inspiration for Arcadium — a chaotic online arcade where every click gives you a new surprise.

What it does

Arcadium is an online arcade platform where players press a giant red button to instantly launch a random mini game.

The platform currently includes:

  • 50+ mini games
  • random game generation flow
  • leaderboards
  • liked games/library system
  • replay functionality
  • different gameplay styles and mechanics

Every game is short, replayable, and designed to feel different from the previous one.

How we built it

The project was built mainly using MeDo, which helped generate the website structure, UI systems, gameplay mechanics, and many of the mini games.

A lot of iteration went into:

  • improving gameplay feel
  • balancing difficulty
  • fixing broken mechanics
  • polishing animations and UI
  • creating new game ideas
  • making the arcade feel smooth and visually consistent

The project evolved continuously with constant testing, redesigning, and refining of games and features.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was constantly thinking of new and interesting game ideas. After building many games, it became difficult to create mechanics that still felt fresh and fun.

Another major challenge was balancing and polishing the games. Some games were too difficult, some too easy, and many initially had bugs or inconsistent layouts. A lot of time was spent fixing gameplay issues, improving controls, standardizing UI layouts, and making the arcade feel cohesive overall.

Authentication and backend systems were also challenging while trying to support player profiles, libraries, and leaderboards in a lightweight and smooth way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of:

  • building 50+ playable mini games
  • creating a fun random-game experience
  • designing a polished arcade-style UI
  • making every game feel different
  • building working leaderboard and library systems
  • creating a platform that feels chaotic, fun, and replayable

The biggest accomplishment was successfully recreating the feeling of those old “100 games in one app” experiences in a modern browser-based format.

What's next for Arcadium

Future plans for Arcadium include:

  • community-created games
  • AI-assisted game creation tools
  • friend challenges
  • multiplayer mini games
  • more creative and experimental mechanics
  • improved community features
  • better progression systems
  • even more unique micro-games

The long-term goal is to turn Arcadium into a massive experimental online arcade full of weird, creative, and endlessly replayable games.
