Aside
This is the first Hackathon that either of us participated in and we are both electrical engineering students who are not active coders!!!! HORAY!!!!!
Inspiration
want more ar We wanted to try to use the Creative Realsense SR300 camera, an RGB-D camera that can be used to detect color and depth.
What it does
This is a group of different attempts to create a virtual keyboard in space and detect
How we built it
We built it by reading a lot of openCV documentation and trying to understand how it works.
Challenges we ran into
LOOPS python Implementing a delay for the "key" selection. GETTING THE REALSENSE CAMERA TO WORK (we never actually got it to work)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
LEARNING PYTHON Navigating through openCV
What we learned
We learnt how to code in python, prior to this we were novices at python basically only writing strings. We learnt the basis of computer vision, edge detection, thresholding, segmentation and object tracking.
What's next for Pulsar
Integrating the modules together to provide edge detection and tracking of the users hand. This will allow for better registration of key presses.
