Inspiration

As part of gift card team for the last 2 years I have been listening for ideas about how to improve the systems or how to start using new technologies, everything to bring the fastest and best experience to the customers. And that word was the key "experience" we have been selling the same 2D plain experience to our valuable customers over the years and for me it's time for a change, the world is moving to the diigtal world and AR/VR experiences are the ones that our customers deserve. The same as the technologie evolve, we ("GiftCards") have to evolve as product.

What it does

We are using physical gift cards as image targets, so everytime we scan a physical gift card we render a 3D model on top of the card to bring an enhanced augmented reality experience.

Challenges we ran into

Creating the 3D models, all the team members are Software Engineers, creating awesome 3D models wasn't one of our skills.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Get positive feedback from the Amazon MSOP team.

What we learned

Create 3D models/animations is a complete different skillset.

What's next for AR Gift Cards

• Integrate it with Amazon MSHOP app
• Add animation
• Text to speech from the greeting message inside of the card
• Introduce customized experiences where the customers can built there own Summerian Scene that will render on the gift card they will send to family/friends.
