Inspiration

Dance steps are easy and tough at the same time. If I want to learn to dance, I just need a mentor. That made me to make this AR dance master lens

What it does

Helps the user to learn some super awesome dance steps to impress friends. At one step a time

How we built it

Find some easy to learn dance steps from youtube. Then pick the easiest one. Invested time to find each separate and simple steps that includes in that dance. Created stick images for each and every the steps using figma, Combined the images to make a 2d animation file (.t3d) for lens studio. This helps in learn and excel each separate steps.

Challenges we ran into

Combining two different Lens Templates (Skelton and Body Trigger) for making this lens take a lot of time. Learning the scripts that is specific to Snap lens was little confusing. More over the connection between Scripts and Components in object panel is really made me mad. Understanding the file structure was little bit difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

So proud to say that, Now I know how to make custom script in lens studio for making some cool AR lens. Combining two complicated templates and making something new is really made my day.

What we learned

Lens studio folder structure, Object panel, New way of js usage and ultimately to create my first lens for snapchat

What's next for AR dance master

I'm planning to make more lens to teach easy-medium-hard dance step. I want to implement recommendation system. AR dance master lens is going to be a series.
