So, have you heard of Garry's mod? Have you heard of Minecraft? Well, the AR Cube Cannon takes the tool gun from GMod and mixes it with Minecraft's grid-like block placement and creates a seam-less block placing experience in real life! Created with scrap parts from various makerspaces, the AR Cube Cannon comes equipped with a transparent OLED display which displays the virtual cube space in which cubes can be generated or destroyed based on a grid system.

A challenge that came up was the inaccuracy in the position vector of the IMU, which resulted in significant drift in position, even after adding post processing to deal with this. As a result, we pivoted to a button to change position based on the orientation vector. Despite these challenges, we are proud that we were able to implement a usable graphics engine and the sleek very human design. We learned how to work with sensor data, applying post processing for a noisy signal, soldering, and more. As for next steps, potentially implementing physical movement in space to create movement rather than button controls, potentially by combining camera data or more sophisticated non-consumer grade IMUs.
