Inspiration

At the beginning of my career, I worked as a lifeguard in Sudan, the land of the great Nile, which used to claim the lives of dozens of people every year who swam in it to escape the summer heat. Recently, I completed the Google Advanced Certificate in Data Analytics and aspired to design a system that integrates artificial intelligence with my experience as a lifeguard. I aim to design this system to help reduce drowning incidents that occur in my country and in Africa as a whole.

What it does

How we built it

its a program that utilizes computer vision techniques to track people around a designated area, framed with a yellow square. The program initializes counters for people inside and outside the designated area, as well as a total count of people. It sets up URLs for API requests to send this data to mobile phones of the lifeguard to save people from drowning and act fast in crowed area. by comparing the inside and outside red counter it can tell if someone is drowning if he disappear from inside counter and not add to the outside counter for 20 second..

Challenges we ran into

the program supposed to know the location of the drowned person by divide the red area to multiple squares with numbers and Coordinates for the lifeguard to easy help people.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

count peoples inside and outside the yellow area and notify the lifeguard when someone start drowned even in the crowd area Using gemini AI vision with photos ..
