Inspiration
I was inspired to do this after realizing how stressful coding could be. I realized how much stress I get from school and home, and decided to make this in hopes of letting off some steam and stress quickly and efficiently. I usually listen to ocean waves to calm myself down, so I set this project underwater.
What it does
It relieves stress by giving users a sense of control by allowing them to control where fish and aquatic lifeforms move and by playing relaxing sounds.
How I built it
I used block coding from scratch.
Challenges I ran into
There were many challenges I ran into. Firstly, I had never coded before, so I needed to figure out how I was going to set everything up. First came the problem of what to use- python, java, and other languages took a really long time to figure out and all I could do was basic operations. Then I found scratch, which was simple and easy. Another hurdle I found was figuring out how loops and while commands worked. I had to play with a few components to figure out how it worked. Lastly, I had trouble running my program for a really long time, until I realized I never specified when the code should start working.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Figuring out how loops work and being able to debug my code.
What I learned
How to block code, basics of looping and while loops, and how to use scratch.
What's next for Aquatic Stress Reliever
Making it better, adding more dynamic animals/fish, and adding more scenes other than aquatic.
