Inspiration

Every day, millions of air-conditioners silently produce, tons of condensate water which we just discharge considering it as a waste. While we face water scarcity we waste an alternative of water. Idea behind AquaOperation was born with a simple question...

What if we can actually save tons of water that we are wasting since years every single day ? I worked on this idea and ended up planning to create a app which is simple to use is accurate and reliable.

What it does

AquaOperation is an AI powered platform that transforms AC condensate into manageable and valuable resource. The platform can :

  • Predict daily condensate water generation.
  • Recommend the best use of recovered water (gardening, toilet flushing, storage, etc.).
  • Monitor water recovery performance across buildings.
  • Detect abnormal drops in water generation that may indicate maintenance issues.
  • Estimate environmental impact, water savings, and cost savings.
  • Allow users to interact with the system using natural language through an AI assistant. My vision is to create every single building with AC to conserve water without any complex mechanism.

How we built it

AquaOperation combines modern web technologies with Artificial Intelligence to create an intelligent sustainability platform.

Our technology stack includes:

  • Frontend for an interactive dashboard
  • Backend API for business logic
  • AI models for prediction and recommendations
  • Weather and environmental data for better forecasting
  • Data visualization for monitoring recovery and sustainability metrics

The platform is designed to be modular so future versions can integrate directly with IoT sensors installed on AC condensate collection systems.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was designing an AI solution that provides meaningful environmental value instead of simply adding AI for the sake of it.

Another challenge was estimating condensate generation, which depends on multiple variables including:

  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • AC capacity
  • Operating hours
  • Building characteristics

We focused on creating a system that produces practical recommendations while remaining scalable for future real-world deployments.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that AquaOperation approaches water conservation from a perspective that is often overlooked. Instead of relying solely on traditional water-saving methods, it unlocks an existing resource that is currently wasted every day.

We also created a concept that combines prediction, optimization, sustainability analytics, and conversational AI into one unified platform.

What we learned

Throughout this project we gained a deeper understanding of:

  • AI-assisted sustainability solutions
  • Water conservation strategies
  • Environmental data analysis
  • Predictive modeling
  • Designing AI products with measurable real-world impact

More importantly, we learned that impactful environmental innovation often starts by recognizing resources people already have—but rarely notice.

What's next for AquaOperation

Our vision extends far beyond this hackathon.

Future versions will include:

  • Smart valve automation
  • Building-wide condensate collection networks
  • AI-powered maintenance prediction
  • City-scale sustainability dashboards
  • Digital twins for water optimization
  • Integration with smart building management systems
