Apromis

Inspiration

We found that a lot of people in college/entering adulthood struggled with their finances, so we decided to change that. We wanted to make an app easily accessible to someone who is nervous about speaking to a financial advisor ar maybe just doesn't know where to start.

What it does

It takes into account the users financial situation, and provides them with a budget to keep track of. It also allows users to set long term goals and short term ones, and the short term goals can be updated to show progress. We also created Prometheus, an AI Financial Advisor who can generate budget plans based on the users info or asnwer any financial questions the user may have.

How we built it

We used Flutterflow, Dart/Flutter for the front end and Firebase for the backend. We split up the work and tackled different sections to try and compensate for time.

Challenges we ran into

Our Gemini API was giving us a very hard time, partly due to the amount of others using it as well. We also ran into many bugs involving the UI and connectivity that we had never seen before but working together, we figured everything out. Time was also against us.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We aare very proud of the UI design and the creation of Prometheus. The UI is simple and intuitive, and also gives off a very warm feeling. Also, Prometheus was just a really cool idea come to life, and it's nice to see how smart he is this early on.

What we learned

We learned that we would rather build our apps from scratch next time instead of using FlutterFlow to help on time, just so we have a bit more control. We ran into a lot of bugs we never would have if we had complete control.

What's next for Apromis

We want to further train Prometheus, as he is still in the very early stages. We also want to integrate a few more features, like adding specific expenses, daily tips, pros and cons to certain goals, delayed gratification and connnecting that back to Prometheus.
