Inspiration

My inspiration was from Codex. I wished to make something that makes programming easier and faster, and that was Apricity. I named it Apricity, which means 'the warmth of the sun in winter'

What it does

Apricity is an assistant built to help Python programmers code. Apricity can refactorize, optimize, test, and debug code neatly. One thing that is different for Apricity is after it generates a solution, it goes through a verifier. The verifier makes sure the generated response is nicely done, and addresses the users problem.

How I built it

I built the backend with Python and FastAPI and the frontend with React and Custom UI. The core workflow was: Intent Classifier -> Router -> Python Toolbox -> Workflow + LLM + Tools -> Featherless -> Verifier And then from the verifier, formats everything into a proper result.

Challenges I ran into

Building Python's toolbox took a while, and like normal code, I ran into bugs here and there. A challenge for me was doing frontend as best I can. I am mainly a backend programmer, so it was slightly difficult, but I got there. Another was hosting both backend and frontend. The sites I used for hosting ran into file errors every now and then, but I got there, and now it's live.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I think I'm rather proud of making a website with a good backend and frontend. I have made websites before, but have never really made the UI look as nice as it does right now.

What I learned

I have learned how to connect things together nicely, and how to make a tool-based project. This project helped me become more comfortable with frontend as well. Making this project was an experience of it's own for me.

What's next for Apricity

Later on, I will sharpen Apricity. The 48-hour building time was a bit tight for me to do much, but I will improve it after this Hackathon. I will integrate Machine Learning into the intent classifier (As I wished before but realized I might not have enough time) and improve everything all together, especially the speed.
