Inspiration
My inspiration for this world was my love for skiing and my love for the social fun some of these ski resorts offer in Europe with DJs and just a fun party with a beautiful landscape.
What it does
Welcome to Apres-Ski — a luxurious French chateau ski resort nestled in the heart of the French Alps, reimagined in the metaverse. More than just a winter wonderland, Apres-Ski is your go-to social escape: cozy up in the hot tub with friends, sip virtual cocktails at the chalet bar, or explore snow-covered slopes together — all from the comfort of your headset. It’s the ultimate social hangout where the après is the main event.
How we built it
I built it completely alone using the Horizon Desktop Editor
Challenges we ran into
I am a unity developer so learning typescript and a software that isn't unity for sure took me a bit out of my comfort zone!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I think the environment created is absolutely beautiful and I think it has a lot of room for cool features!
What we learned
I was able to brush up a bit on my typescript! and learning how to build something in the headset was very cool!
What's next for Apres-Ski Lodge
What's super cool about Apres-Ski Lodge is the possibilities to expand and grow. I'm hoping that if I win, I can use some of that money to really focus on expanding it. From cool mountain race tracks the players can teleport and race each other in to customizing your snowboards and adding other cool equipment like skis and snow tubing! Even letting players host their own DJ sets for other players visiting!
