Inspiration
Inspired by my own experiences in healthcare and also other peers. This all started in the 2021 Port Humantarian Hackathon. Serious illnesses were not addressed because doctors dismissed patients and or didn't have time or energy to address their needs. Patients on the other hand don't have the ability to articulate what they need because "they're sick". So we think there is a large communication problem.
What it does
It allows patients to store medical data and or summarize what they need from the doctor. It spits out a summary that can be presented to a doctor. The doctor can then also summarize what the patient needs to do.
How I built it
With node js, hugo framework, and old-fashioned HTML/CSS. I used groq for the API. Still working on multimodal feature.
Challenges I ran into
Finding the right LLM. We still need to fine-tune and improve security features.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We won the best life science project award in the 2021 Innosuisse Science2Market In Geneva.
What I learned
That the healthcare system needs to augment their services with AI.
What's next for Apprie
Finish the multimodal prototype and make a downloadable open source software. Launch this year.
