Inspiration
Applying to jobs is repetitive, time-consuming, and frustrating. We wanted to build an AI that doesn't just write resumes but actually completes applications while keeping users in control.
What it does
ApplySmart finds relevant jobs, personalizes resumes and cover letters, fills application forms, drafts recruiter emails, and automates submissions with human approval when needed.
How we built it
We combined LLMs, browser automation, web search, and a persistent career memory to create an AI Application Copilot that works directly on job portals.
Challenges we ran into
making browser automation reliable, and ensuring the AI only asks users for input when necessary.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building an end-to-end AI that goes beyond chat by actually completing job applications and reducing a lengthy process to just a few clicks.
What we learned
Reliable automation, thoughtful UX, and keeping humans in the loop are just as important as using powerful AI models.
What's next for ApplySmart
Expand support for more job platforms, improve personalization through long-term memory, automate interview preparation, and build a complete AI Career Copilot.
