ApplyPilot_AI ***Autonomous Job Application Agent

Inspiration

Job searching is often repetitive and time-consuming. People need to find suitable jobs, understand requirements, tailor applications, and remember follow-ups. I wanted to build an AI agent that could handle this workflow instead of only giving advice.

What it does

ApplyPilot AI is an autonomous job-application agent. The user provides their profile and a job description, and the agent analyzes the opportunity, matches skills, identifies gaps, creates a tailored application plan and cover letter, and records the application for follow-up.

How we built it

The project uses Gemini for reasoning and generation, Google ADK for agent orchestration, and Google Cloud services for deployment and persistent application data. The agent uses tools to move through multiple steps and complete the workflow.

Challenges

The main challenge was designing an agent that performs useful actions rather than simply returning a chat response. We focused on making each step structured, traceable, and useful to the user.

What's next

Future improvements include more job-source integrations, automated application tracking, smarter follow-ups, and additional specialized agents for different stages of the job-search process.
