Inspiration
I came up with the idea of an Apple Tree Cycle Educational program while considering science-related projects because I've been interested in science recently. I also like helping others in my community, so I consider it to be even better to be able to create a tool that could benefit kids all around the world. I wanted to make sure that not only did they learn the information, but that it was presented in a way that kids would like, with a fun quiz at the end.
What it does
The Apple Tree Cycle Educator is an educational program that teaches kids about the Apple Tree Cycle and quizzes them on their knowledge at the end.
How we built it
I built it on replit using HTML and CSS, with quite some JavaScript in the HTML file.
Challenges we ran into
I ran into challenges in making the text assigned with the image pop up when the user hovers over the image and ensuring the button doesn't refresh the whole project when pressed, but I overcame these challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud that I could create a project using languages I've just learned recently.
What we learned
Apart from learning new languages, this was my first hackathon project, so I learned that I was able to complete a program in a short amount of time which really inspired me to join more hackathons.
What's next for Apple Tree Cycle Educator
I'm considering adding more questions to the quiz at the end of the program so that it is more entertaining for the user.
