Inspiration
From our experiences as students during COVID-19, we realized how important human interaction was to keep us motivated and accountable for our work. That's why we created Apoyo.
What it does
Apoyo is a collaborative tool for students and professionals to keep track of their goals and share them with others so they can be accountable for them.
How we built it
We created mockups in Figma, and planned to implement the web app using the MERN stack.
Challenges we ran into
We took too much too much time to brainstorm our idea, leaving us with very little time to actually create the app. In hindsight, we should have come up with more ideas prior to the hackathon to flesh them out. Additionally, as our team was virtual and in different time zones, it was more difficult to communicate our ideas and our progress, so there was a lot of miscommunication.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We came up with a pretty solid idea. The mockups look really good as well.
What we learned
Time management skills. We also tried learning React and MongoDB.
What's next for Apoyo
Implementing the web app using the MERN stack, and creating a mobile app using Flutter or React Native.
