Apollo Shot

Inspiration

When I wanted to scan QR codes quickly and manage them, there were lots of apps in the Appstore.

But when I used them, they showed so much ads making them unusable.

So to solve this, I decided to make one for myself which I call it as "ApolloShot"

What it does

The app has a wide range of features and I plan to add lot more in the near future. The app has,

Taking HD Images and Saving them to gallery.
Taking HD Videos and Saving them to gallery.
Added a function called exposure which will increase/decrease the brightness of the taken image/video.
Compress images and videos.
Resize & Crop images.
Scan QR code and Bar code.
Change App icons like how X (Twitter) does.

How I built it

I built it with React Native and integrated Revenue cat Inapp SDK to let the users upgrade to premium and access premium features like managing Scanned QR Codes, Changing App icons and all the AI related features which I will be adding in the coming weeks.

Challenges we ran into

I wanted the app to be usable by a wide range of audience starting from my own regional language called Tamil in India. The app is available in almost 10+ languages and users around the world who speak Arabic, Chinese, Russia, French, Spanish, Telugu, Hindi, Korean, Japanese can use the app in their own language. This was to tough to integrate.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

I am proud of finally integrating Revenue cat SDK and solving the issue of Apps bombarding me with Ads when I just want to scan a QR code quickly. The app has blazing fast QR Code scanner which will solve the problem for the user within 2-5 seconds.

What I learned

I learnt that Revenue Cat SDK is a superb solution to integrate inapp payments within my React Native apps and will be using them for all of my future apps.

Solving a simple problem lead to the creation of the app so solving from simple problems should be my first goal before starting a new project/app.
