Inspiration
Cross-border collaboration of emergency responders (ambulances, fire-fighters etc.) is an ongoing issue across Europe. The challenges are language barriers, local knowledge and incompatibility of the operating systems.
The COVID-19 crisis puts even more pressure on the cross-border collaboration of EU member states and on sharing the resources. The API should simplify data exchange across the emergency responders, so it's easier to dispatch an ambulance transporting a patient to the nearest available hospital which is across the border.
What it does
The result should be a platform, to which it is possible to submit short data sentences containing the information about emergency and deliver them to their recipients. The key feature of the platform should be support of various communication protocols for data transfer so both the sender and the recipient can use the method they prefer. In the core the platform should be able to translate the data from one format to the other.
What's next
I'm looking for opportunities to validate the idea so the prototype can be built.
