Inspiration
Have you ever been to Grainger, and realized that all the individual study rooms are booked? Then, you try to go on the website to book a study room, but realize just how inconvenient and nit-picky that can be? Logging into the account each time you just want to get a room? We've faced this exact same issue, and can assure you that you are NOT alone. Just for this, we've created an app that works on all platforms, IOS, Android, and Web as well.
What it does
This app would essentially take in user input from when they are attempting to book a study room, and at what time they would plan on do so. From there, they can check which rooms are open, so that they can book that room, or which rooms are already filled at the moment, or are already booked.
How we built it
We used node.js and express.js to create an API, then tested that API using Postman. Then, we moved onto creating an app with react-native, and used Expo so that we would be able to test and have our app be utilized on all platforms. Then, we tested all that on local servers using XMLHttp and updated our user settings and bookings from that.
Challenges we ran into
Too many to mention.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The completion of the project.
What we learned
Too much to put into just some sentences.
