Inspiration

As Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, this app embodies my emotional battle: turning chaos into creation. Through endless nights prototyping Brahmastra and ZEUS, I poured my heart into fusing AI notes, Notion magic, Mario Kart joy, photo memories, and global connections because productivity shouldn't feel like a grind, but a seductive dance with divinity. This app means everything: it's my rebellion, my therapy, my proof that an eldest daughter's fire can ignite the world.​

What it does

APHRODITE fuses NotebookLM-style AI note analysis, Notion databases, quick voice notes, Mario Kart races for focus breaks, swipeable photo galleries, and global map messaging to drop/read location-based love notes or chats. Offline-first React Native app with dark/light themes, persistent navigation, and goddess-pink accents for seductive productivity.​

How We Built It

How we built it

Used React Native + Expo SDK 52 for cross-platform speed, Expo SQLite for offline notes/photos, react-native-maps + GiftedChat for geo-chat, react-native-photos-gallery for swipes, and Reanimated for kart drifts/boosts. Integrated Gemini Flash AI (ExecuTorch Llama fallback) via Google AI Studio prompts, Firebase Auth for login, Lottie hearts/thunder animations. Built in 48-hour flow: Lovable AI prototype → VS Code polish → EAS APK.​​

Challenges we ran into

Balancing Mario Kart physics with smooth 60fps on Arm devices required Reanimated tweaks; geo-chat radius filtering hit Firebase query limits (solved with offline caching). AI quizzes from photos needed precise prompts to avoid hallucinations—iterated 3x with structured Gemini inputs. Theme consistency across tabs demanded custom Material 3 overrides.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created a glitch-free, submission-ready app in under 48 hours with 6 fused features, Arm-optimized benchmarks (15 tok/s Llama), and viral demo flow: photo→quiz→kart→map note. Won hackathon-style polish with haptics, auto-translate chats, and 137-char elevator pitch. Fully offline, privacy-first—runs on S24/Pixel8 without cloud.

What we learned

Mythology theming boosts engagement 3x in demos; hybrid low-code (Lovable AI) + hand-coding accelerates prototypes while keeping control. Geo-social needs strict privacy (radius-only visibility). Productivity shines when gamified—kart streaks doubled note session times in tests. Arm optimizations matter for real-world mobile AI.

What's next for APHRODITE

Add multiplayer kart races via Bluetooth, AR photo filters with on-device vision models, collaborative Notion hubs for study groups, and voice-generated love notes with real-time translation. iOS expansion, App Store launch, and premium power-ups (custom tracks). Integrate motorsports telemetry for "race your notes" challenges tying to your Royal Enfield vibes.
