Inspiration
We were inspired by the Capital One finance sponser track, and we also wanted to do a website, so we thought: why not make a website to help people with their finances?
What it does
It's a budgeting app. It let's you input what your budget is and different transactions, like stuff you buy.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JS for the frontend. We used Java and SQL for the backend.
Challenges we ran into
We needed to learn how to make a website because we had never made a website before. We spent around half the time learning and watching videos on HTML, CSS, JS, and SQL. We also struggled with getting the SQL and the backend to work, downloading other apps that would be necessary for our project, and communicating when to work on the project or when to take a break.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made a website. We learned different languages, and we were able to push out of our comfort zone of making games and vibe coding.
What we learned
We learned HTML, CSS, JS, SQL, and how to make a frontend and backend for the website.
What's next for ApexFinance
We could expand upon the idea, make the UI more user friendly, and make the backend better.
