Inspiration

As we all know, College is the main source of stress for high school students, and taking AP tests are important steps to showing academic rigor. However, not all high schools offer AP classes, and many self-studying tools have no collaboration feature, a crucial aspect of learning AP material.

What it does

Apeople addresses these problems by adding a video conferencing feature that allows students to meet mentors and other students to ask questions, study, and work together.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create a program using VS Code that we pushed to github.

Challenges we ran into

Going into this experience, we had fairly little coding experience, and we had no coding experience in Javascript nor HTML. When coding our website, we were also unable to get the code onto a domain, restricting what we could do. It was also the first hackathon for 3/4 of our members, so this was a new experience for the majority of us.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we were able to implement an API, and that we were able to even put together a basic website having started with no knowledge.

What we learned

We started this event with no experience in Javascript nor HTML, but we came out of it with a completed website and some new abilities in the 2 coding languages.

What's next for APeople

We would like to add a rating system, a forum system, improve our study resources and eventually add more courses.
