Inspiration

DAOs are becoming significant in Web3 with an increasing market valuation of close to $13 billion (before the recent market crash). Trends indicate that there is a high probability that DAOs will become the mainstream organizational form to replace companies in Web3.

However, due to their infancy, DAO/Web3 organizations are faced with a number of pain points:

  1. DAO management is challenging as communication and organization is fragmented across multiple platforms. Due to this fragmentation, value contributions can be isolated, and hard to be quantified and incentivized accurately.
  2. Current solutions poorly recognize and reward value creation – often requiring manual ‘proof’ submissions and approval.
  3. No standardized space to explore, join, and contribute to DAOs.

So DAOs need a service/platform to fix those problems. Our goal in AnyDAO is to build a DAO-as-a-Service platform that lets anyone launch a DAO and recruit contributors to participate and be rewarded through contribute-to-earn mechanisms. Our aim is to create an innovative yet universal platform to lets any DAO spread the message of their DAO spirit, memberships, assets, and events while contributions are captured and incentivized automatically and accurately without any coding.

What it does

Anyone can launch a DAO here and bounties to recruit contributors. A bounty is incentive to those who engage with DAO's social accounts/groups, like referral to discord group, retweet Twitter posts, etc. When a bounty created, bonus(tokens) is charged by the smart contract and bots begin to record contributors' behaviors on Web2 media. Bots tag those behavior and produce a credential, 'contribution proof', which is updated and stored on IPFS. When the duration expired, EVM excutes the distribution of incentive according to the proof. What's more, the proof/credential will be used freely within token offerings and NFT minting.

How we built it

First, we built a place for creators/founders to integrate all the links/entrances to a DAO, including social media, communication groups, governance and treasury management, native assets as well as active events(bounties, offerings) so that contributors can follow the DAO easily and know what's new about it.

Second, we built bots which can capture and tag users' behaviors engaged with DAOs.

Third, we built smart contracts of bounty, NFT minting, token offering and marketplace togather with IPFS and subgraphs.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we face is nefarious use within the bounty campaigns by creating and organizing mass wallets to grab rewards like spam emails without providing any actual valuable contribution to the DAO. The other is DAO scams/rugs due to being a permissionless policy that harms contributors.

AnyDAO's solution is to build a structured 'Credentials of Contribution' recording for both the behavior of DAOs and contributors across Web 2 and Web 3. Through the credential contribution record, DAOs can easily judge the value of contributors and determine which open events/campaigns to specific contributors should be rewarded. Additionally, the oracle records every action of treasury management, allowing for greater transparency for contributors. So contributors can judge the value, authenticity, and motivation and decide which DAOs they wish to contribute to. Moreover, this will help provide clarity for scam reporting mechanisms for the AnyDAO community governance to warn contributors of inherent risks.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are going to deliver a viable DAO-as-a-Service platform allowing anyone to launch a DAO and recruit contributors without any technical barriers, and a marketplace specialized in DAO's NFT and token voucher trading. And we got 20+ DAOs' intentions to be early users.

What we learned

We learned a lot from our competitors. In the crypto space, there are hundreds of projects serving DAOs, such as SuperDAO, Common Wealth, Station, Samudai, and more. Upstream serves both crypto and non-crypto DAOs. Through researching on them, we keep building our barriers and optimizing our product.

First, most competitors focus on how to make DAO governance easy and build a directory of DAOs, while AnyDAO is focused on 'Growth', meaning efficient recruitment of contributors. AnyDAO provides a plug-and-play hub for DAOs to launch bounties, NFT minting, donation offerings, and staking smart contracts to engage with contributors.

Second, AnyDAO will build a Credential of Contribution oracle to record and quantify the engagements for future incentives. This will be an important Web3 infrastructure.

Third, AnyDAO tokenomics incentivize contributors with $MANY while they contribute-to-earn token/NFT from DAOs.

What's next for AnyDAO

We are planning to issue the token $MANY which will circulate in the AnyDAO ecosystem.

As a DAO, AnyDAO has been working towards complete decentralization since its inception. Ideally, AnyDAO's smart contract upgrades, DAO-as-a-Service extensions, airdrops, treasury management, token liquidity incentives, trading incentives, and future business direction expansion should all be governed by contributors, especially $MANY holders.
$MANY holders should also have the right to dividends from the income of the AnyDAO Marketplace, and more considerable contribute-to-earn rewards. $MANY could be empowered with the utility of accessing to premium functions and facilities in DAO lifecycles.
