Inspiration
The idea of a story based puzzle game is highly inspired by the case of the golden idol series and the chants of sannaar. These two games just has this meldable idea that we could work with and thus came our idea to make the game.
What it does
The game is a relatively simpe puzzle game that has the capability to teach even the most complex filipino grammar rules using simple rules and guidelines in order to not overwhelm the player. By repetition and the gamification of learning, we easily have a way to increase both motivation and reading comprehension.
How we built it
We were on the fence on it first but we ended up using godot for it being a reliable game engine that has produced many lovely titles over the years. Since we weren't very experienced with this we had to use a lot of help from guides and ai.
Challenges we ran into
As in the previous section, we had a lot of issues with not knowing what to do, it practically took us all day to create buttons. After a while, we eventually got the hang of things though!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create a large majority of assets in the selected time and possibly even more if we weren't tired, and in addition, a programers learned soo much in such a small amount of time which just really proves their skills to adapt and learn on the spot.
What we learned
We learned through our meetings that we work best when sticking to our designated task while still supporting each other afterwards which really shows that we have specific skill sets that we can use to the fullest rather than forcing everybody to be an everyman.
What's next for Antolohiya
We might plan to finish this game one day if we have the time, but as of now, we just really want to polish up the ui and bugfix everything.
