Antidemic

Inspiration

We are sailing in the sea of negativity. Being hit hard by the waves of epidemics and pandemics. From Plagues to recent one being SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19. We have option sit and let this negativity drown us away, or an option to light the lamp of positivity in every movement possible. This us a small lamp lit by me to combat these epidemics

What it does

It is a complete web portal that can be easily launched for any Pandemic or Epidemic anywhere around the globe. It can be easily used by anyone around the world and on any device connected to the internet.

We believe Antidemic can help save precious lives by:

Helping in accurate realtime monitoring of disease and identifying victims to contain them. Alerting user anonymously about victim near them and in their friend circle Tracking user location mode( Keeps a track of user location ) and user home quartine mode( Notifying authorities if the user leaves home)

Challenges

The main challenge that I wanted to tackle throughout the development of Antidemic was making the portal easy to use and deploy while also protecting the person’s privacy and data. A lot of API providers have subscription fees which prevented me from being able to display data in a better manner. Mostly plotting the last locations of the user. Other issues are in the time format for which I have currently displaying time in UTC. Later it will show local time

Accomplishments that I am proud of

Completing the project in the time limit. I was able to learn many new data structures and algorithms. And I am sure that it can prove helpful in such tough times.

What's next for Antidemic?

To provide the most appropriate step to be taken to tackle any disease with it's the economic and social impact To scrape data from news and use NLP to structure it Help forecasting the disease and possible suspects
