Anti-work Screamer

Inspiration

I wanted to create a personality to my own blocking chrome extension

What it does

When you start a 25 minute timer to do work, it will block non-work related sites like "youtube", "netflix", "twitter" and tell you something over your speakers to get back to work

How we built it

Using basic java script, html, and json along side a api call to elevenlabs to create a speaking chrome extension

Challenges we ran into

Unknown java script bugs that didnt announce themselves. Adding a time that kept track of the time when you closed the pop up.

The different randomized voices along with the random message sit says

• Java script, re-learned html, and how to make a api call in java script.
• How to interact with chrome tabs in java script

What's next for Anti-work Screamer

• Create a nice hour glass icon in the popup
• Add a animation each time we auto close a tab
