Inspiration
HackHarassment inspired us to help prevent hurtful commentary by designing a keyboard which would encourage users to abstain from typing aggressive messages.
What it does
The keyboard changes color as the words typed become increasingly aggressive and turns to a calmer blue after positive and supporting words are written.
How we built it
We forked an existing repository and added color functionality and used the IBM Bluemix Tone Recognition API to determine the sentiment present in the typed works.
Challenges we ran into
It took a couple hours to set up the IBM api, but we finally learned how to do this thanks to a fellow hacker.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we made an app that can help people be more kind and aware of what they say.
What we learned
We learned a lot about Android Studio and IBM's APIs in the process.
