Inspiration

Fake Remdesivir injections during second wave of Covid has inspired us to build an Anti-Counterfeit solution which could potentially save lives.

What it does

Our solution helps customer identify fake goods in the market. It helps brands from protecting their identity and avoiding low quality goods flooding the market and diluting the brand value.

How we built it

We used a smartcontract built on Neo3 permissioned blockchain. We have built an interface for the brands to enter product data and generate a QR Code. When customer scans the QR code it will show whether the product is a genuine one or not.

Challenges we ran into

If a QR code could be read, it could very well be copied. So we had to identify a mechanism which will help us uniquely identify the product physically so that the data when coupled with blockchain will be a complete solution. We are using NXP NFC tags to solve this problem.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are doing a pilot with a In Vitro Diagnostics manufacturer in Mumbai who is testing our solution. We could save thousands of lives with our solutions.

What we learned

Blockchain is a looked at as a fancy solution with no problem to solve. However we have learned that we can use complex blockchain technology to solve simple day to day problems.
