Inspiration : About a year ago Patrick and I flew to Hong Kong from Houston. During the eighteen hour flight we looked at the flight map quite often. While we were looking at the map we saw names of different cities that we had never heard before and grew fascinated with wondering what made each of these cities big to small special.

What it does : This app lets you search for your flight number and then based on your departure time and arrival the app tells you about the different cities you are flying over in that minute. It is basically a normal flight map with an added bonus of learning more about different cities thousands of feet beneath you.

How I built it

Challenges I ran into: We ran into a lot of problems when it came to xCode. This was our first time using xCode to make an iOS app so it took a lot of playing around with to get it right.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of :

What I learned: xCode can be difficult to work with when you haven't worked with it before.

What's next for AntFarm: In the future we would like to implement a button that you can press to tell you about the city a few miles ahead or from a few miles before. It would also be neat to one day have this running on the televisions in the seats in front of you, much like a normal flight map now.
