Inspiration

As a space enthusiast I was facinated by Nasa eye's web where they have made the Rover landing simulation and Rocket simulation where one can easily watch at their own place , so I thought why not made one of mine, So I built Antariksha Darshan which is a XR based space exploration app which help people to navigate and explore the solar system and help in building Rocket simulations

What it does

Antariksha Darshan offers an immersive platform it consist of Four modules which is dedicated by different house each house is developed with different access to different modules. (House 1) Explore a Realistic Solar System: Interact with a detailed, scalable solar system model featuring orbiting planets and moons, one can easily use VR to navigate around solar system or use the app to navigate around and view details of each and every planets of solar system and you can watch trajectory of planets. (House 2) Build Rockets: Using VR one can Assemble rocket components, simulate launches, and analyze trajectories , once rocket is build one can test by playing their rocket simulation it helps to breakdown it when it enters different atmospheric layers. (House 3) Design Satellites: Customize and test satellite models for various missions and view the satellite simulation on their particular planets by dedicated path followed by them. (House 4) Educational Tools: Learn about orbital mechanics, rocket science, and satellite systems through gamified lessons and challenges and one can learn about recent space mission which helps people to be updated with recent space mission the data is of India and Satellite. Simulations: Experience realistic orbital paths, rocket launches, and satellite deployment scenarios.

How we built it

Solar System Model: Created a highly detailed 3D solar system model using Blender and imported it into Unreal Engine. Implemented orbital mechanics and real-time animations using Unreal’s animation blueprints. Rocket Building Module: Designed a modular interface allowing users to build rockets with interchangeable components. Integrated a physics engine for realistic simulations of rocket launches and trajectories. Satellite Design Module: Built an intuitive customization interface where users can assemble satellite components. Simulated deployment and operational scenarios using Unreal’s simulation tools. Interactivity: Leveraged Unreal Engine’s user interface tools to create seamless navigation and engaging interactions. Added VR capabilities for a more immersive learning experience. Educational Features: Integrated real-world data from NASA APIs to provide real-time updates on satellites and planetary positions.

Challenges we ran into

There were various issues mainly importing model and then adding collision manually Collision Issues: Ensuring the solar system model allowed free movement inside without obstructive collisions. Optimization: Maintaining performance while rendering a detailed solar system and handling complex simulations. Physics Integration: Accurately simulating rocket launches and satellite orbits to match real-world behavior. User Experience: Designing an intuitive interface that caters to both beginners and enthusiasts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully created the animation for planet trajectory and followed by rocket simulation environment and then finally exporting it to Creating a platform that combines education and entertainment to inspire space exploration.

What we learned

Imprtance of importing large 3d assests and optimizing it work on small android phones and integrating physics engine for realistic simulation and mainly feteching data of NASA eye to include it in our moduls.

What's next for Antariksha Darshan

Expanding Content: Add more celestial objects, detailed mission simulations, and real-world spacecraft models. Community Features: Allow users to share their rocket and satellite designs. Augmented Reality (AR): Enable AR-based exploration for mobile users. Partnerships: Collaborate with educational institutions and space agencies to enhance content. Multiplayer Mode: Introduce collaborative missions where users can build and launch projects together.
