Inspiration
We have been planning to make a roguelite game, and we would like to incorporate some of the MLH challenges into our submission.
What it does
A video game where the user can navigate, fight enemies, and acquire upgrades to complete their goal.
How we built it
Unity, Notability (Design), ElevenLabs
Challenges we ran into
Implementing the designs into Unity, as well as some of the logic within the character. When setting up a login for our video game using Auth0, we found that it was somewhat irrelevant to have this feature, as other third-party services would handle security, such as Steam. Lack of Unity knowledge has shortened our demo by a character just moving side to side, and we decided to present our ideas in a presentation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Working with Unity, ElevenLabs, and Auth0. Even though we have no presentation with these applications, this has informed us about game design. We believe that these are great ideas and will make minor adjustments to them in the near future to create a small but well-made video game.
What we learned
Graphic design is quite difficult to import from one application to another, especially since the Unity 2D editor wasn't working with us as well as we intended it to be. Time is key with a heavy and well-detailed application that we were trying to do.
What's next for Antares
World Building and demo as well as choosing a game engine that we believe will work with our game as well as we plan it to be.
