Inspiration

I started this project because I kept thinking about a simple problem: people can have really ambitious goals, but knowing what to actually do next is often much harder than having the goal itself.

I wanted to explore what AI could look like if it wasn't just something you opened whenever you had a question, but something that could actually help you make progress.

The idea came from wanting to bridge that gap between "I want to achieve this" and "okay, what should I actually do now?"

What it does

My project uses AI to understand what someone is trying to accomplish and help them move toward it.

Instead of throwing a huge amount of information at the user, the goal is to understand their situation, figure out what matters most right now, and help them take a useful next step.

Over time, the experience is designed to become more personalized as the system learns more about the person and how they work.

How I built it

I built it as a combination of a modern app, an AI-powered backend, and persistent user data.

A big part of the project was figuring out how these pieces should work together rather than treating the AI as just a chatbot inside an app.

I focused on three things throughout the build:

  • Making the experience personal rather than generic
  • Keeping the focus on actual progress
  • Designing the system so it can keep improving over time

I also tried to keep the architecture flexible because AI technology is changing incredibly quickly.

Challenges I ran into

One of the biggest things I realized is that getting an AI to respond isn't really the difficult part.

The difficult part is deciding what the AI should know, when it should use that information, when it should ask a question, and when it should simply help the user take action.

Another challenge was keeping the product simple.

There are always more features that could be added, but adding everything can make an experience worse. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to make the product feel useful without making it overwhelming.

Accomplishments I'm proud of

I'm proud that I was able to move beyond the idea of simply putting a chatbot into an app.

I built the foundations for an experience where AI, goals, user context, and progress can work together instead of existing as separate pieces.

I'm also proud of the direction of the product. I wanted to focus less on giving people endless information and more on helping them actually move forward.

What I learned

The biggest thing I learned is that building an AI product isn't just about making the AI smarter.

A huge part of it is designing the relationship between the AI and the person using it.

More information doesn't automatically mean a better experience. Sometimes the best thing an AI can do is understand what matters right now and help with that instead of explaining everything it possibly can.

I also learned how important it is to build for change. Models, APIs, and AI capabilities are evolving so quickly that making the system flexible is just as important as making it work today.

What's next for my project

I'm focused on turning what I've built so far into a much more refined product.

The next stage is improving the personalization, reliability, and overall experience, while making the system increasingly useful the longer someone uses it.

I'm keeping most of the long-term roadmap private for now because there are still a lot of things I want to experiment with before revealing them.

At its core, though, the goal is pretty simple:

I want to build something that helps people make meaningful progress with AI, and becomes more useful the more it understands them.
