Inspiration
This project was inspired by platforms like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, and aims to solve some of the issues present in these platforms.
What it does
Ansaar congregates listings- items, services, events- and presents them to users based on filters such as locality, preference, and algorithm determined need.
How we built it
The repository was scaffolded by Claude, with new features being added by hand with AI assistance.
Challenges we ran into
Various issues were present in development. From sharing the repo, selecting a stack, and accessing a database, the team ran into various technical issues along the way. GitHub restricted remote access for a team member, so VSCode Live Share was used. Live Share corrupted the database over the connection, so only the host was able to take responsibility for the DB. Various other minor issues were encountered.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Achieving the moderation aspect of this platform, since it solves one of the biggest issues with Facebook Marketplace
What we learned
Significant flexibility is necessary if a certain tech stack is unable to execute the plan.
What's next for Ansaar
The future for Ansaar holds improvements in moderation, incentives for offering services, and possible partnership programs.
