Inspiration

The primary inspiration for our project comes from the fascinating concept of mixed reality and the blending of two worlds – the real and the virtual. We were captivated by the idea of seeing the world as cats do, perceiving elements invisible to the human eye. Additionally, the movie "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" played a significant role in our inspiration. This film sparked our imagination, leading us to create a game where players can experience a shrunken perspective within their own living spaces, combining elements of fantasy and everyday reality.

What it does

Our project allows players to use their phones and VR headsets with Mixed Reality (MR) capabilities to clean dirt invisible to the human eye from their homes. Players can recreate their living spaces in the game, using either a simple editor or a library of assets. This recreation can be as detailed as they wish, with more details providing a more engaging experience. They have the option to play as either a mage or a warrior in a special suit. The game involves finding and eliminating foes hidden in the dark corners of the recreated spaces, which can be done alone or with friends.

How we designed it

We designed this game by integrating various technologies. Players use their phones with a special app to scan their environment and as additional controller. The game uses hand, eye, and body tracking, along with facial recognition, to allow players to interact with the game world – casting spells or controlling weapons. Players can also use traditional headset controllers.

What's next for Another Space

Looking ahead, we aim to expand the game's capabilities, including adding more environments and interactive elements. We also plan to enhance the game's social features, allowing more players to join and interact in a single game session. Our goal is to make "Another Space" a platform where reality and virtuality blend seamlessly, offering endless possibilities for fun and engagement.
