Inspiration
What if a wizard’s day felt like a graphic novel in motion? I built a first-person, black-and-white “run” through an iconic magic world — part thriller, part homage — as if the viewer is holding the wand.
What it does
ANOTHER DAY in HOGWARTS is a short AI-generated film told in POV with a comic book B/W aesthetic. It moves through castle corridors, forests, arenas, markets, rooftops, duels, creatures, and a final hilltop panorama — all cut like dynamic inked panels.
How we built it
- Visual generation: compact, “safe” prompts (POV, hyperrealistic, 16:9, B/W comic ink, high contrast) for scenes like: ancient corridors, dark forest, arena, magical marketplace, duels, rooftops, owl tower, lake monster, dragons, Dementors-like wraiths, Hagrid-style hut, etc.
- Editing & timing: assembled shots into a smooth sprint with hard cuts, whip-pans, and panel-style transitions.
- Audio design: orchestral-meets-noir score (pulse drums + strings), realistic SFX (footsteps, wind, wand whoosh), subtle “comic punches” for spell hits.
Key scenes (examples)
- Ancient Corridor (POV): inked stone walls, torch flicker, echoing steps.
- Dark Forest (POV): wand light flare, eyes in shadow, branches slapping lens.
- Arena (POV): roaring stands, goal hoops, motion blur overhead.
- Magical Market (POV): cobblestones, glowing signs, owls and cauldrons.
- Rooftop Chase (POV): wind-torn cloak, city below in sharp ink strokes.
- Duel (POV): green/red/blue bolts, smoke, debris, stark contrast.
- Owl Tower / Lake Monster / Dragon / Wraiths / Hut: creature feature set.
- Final Panorama: castle glow, lake shimmer, forest mass, silver guardian.
Challenges
- Keeping likeness and tone without naming specific IP.
- Consistency across many generated shots (contrast, line weight, lens feel).
- Audio that sells motion and stakes in B/W minimalism.
Accomplishments
- A coherent POV comic film built from modular AI shots.
- A reusable prompt system for fast scene expansion (action, mood, lens).
What we learned
Short, visual-first prompts outperform long narrative text for reliable AI shots. Strong audio and edit rhythm make B/W minimalist visuals feel big and cinematic.
What’s next
- Interactive version where viewers choose the route (forest/arena/rooftops).
- Color-splash variant (only spells and key props glow).
- Real-time audio-reactive cuts for live performance.
Note on IP
This is a fan-style artistic experiment. World elements are described generically; no official assets are used. Non-commercial demo.
