Inspiration
This is my very first hackathon, and my main inspiration was to combine my passion for space and rockets with modern 3D web technologies. I wanted to learn how to build an immersive digital experience from scratch, discover new frameworks, and push the boundaries of traditional informational websites.
What it does
An interactive 3D web application dedicated to rockets and space exploration. It is packed with rich, detailed information about different rockets and features a highly engaging, futuristic user experience—including an interactive AI-powered login animation that sets the stage for a cinematic web experience.
How we built it
The site was built using standard web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, paired with modern 3D tools and frameworks to render the rocket models. I focused on designing the concept, structuring the massive amount of rocket data, and implementing smooth animations to make the spacecraft feel alive.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was overcoming the steep learning curve of 3D development as a beginner. Managing the performance of the website while displaying high-quality rocket models, rich technical data, and complex login animations simultaneously required a lot of trial, error, and fine-tuning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Taking the leap to enter my first hackathon with zero prior experience and successfully building a functional, rich, and visually stunning 3D rocket platform. I am incredibly proud of how the custom AI login animation turned out and how much knowledge I gained during this short event.
What we learned
I learned the basics of 3D web rendering, how to optimize complex rocket models for web browsers, and how to create engaging user interfaces with AI animations. I also mastered how to present a technical concept clearly using Markdown on Devpost.
What's next for this project
The next steps are to add even more interactive rocket models, include a live rocket launch tracker, and optimize the code so the 3D space animations load instantly on mobile phones.
