Inspiration
We wanted to try to code up an Anime watching website, despite not knowing how to code in frontend or backend.
What it does
Our website stores information about different anime shows and displays the information to users. Information about the show includes the title, description, etc.
How we built it
Frontend: HTML, CSS, JS, React Backend: Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, Mongoose Design: Figma
Challenges we ran into
One challenge that we encountered was earning the Front-End and how to build out the design that we have for our website. Another challenge was trying to connect the server to our database and adding document objects to our database.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
While working on our project, we spent a lot of time learning how to work with new technologies such as Node.js and MongoDB for the backend, and React for the frontend. We managed to get our server running and connecting our server to the database and we designing the website and implementing the front end for the home page of our website.
What we learned
We learned how to code in HTML, CSS, React for the frontend, as well as MongoDB, Express.js, Node.js, and Mongoose for setting up the backend.
What's next for AnimeHub
We plan on improving it's functionality, potentially adding a forums ability so users can see other people's reviews on certain shows.
