Animals' Friend

Inspiration 💥

The world is facing a nature crisis that threatens our ecosystem, affecting billions of people. Education is the best way to cultivate children with the heart of empathy and responsibility to protect wildlife and our environment. With this in mind, we hope to create an educational website for children to learn about endangered species, to raise their environmental awareness and build a better world for our future generations.

What it does 😊

The website provides information about different endangered animals, such as their appearance, behavior, habitats, etc. Reasons why they are endangered are also introduced to strengthen their awareness of protecting wildlife. With AR animals and fun facts attached, it would be more fascinating for children to enjoy this learning journey. There are quiz sections for children to test their understanding of endangered animals too!

To support the environmental protection campaign hosted by different organizations, our website introduces organizations that advocate for wildlife protection. Donation links are attached so that visitors can show their support immediately!

How we built it 😎

We used Figma to build the website. By utilizing echo3D, we added in the AR animals to introduce the endangered animals.

Challenges we ran into 😥

We found it difficult for us to communicate effectively and efficiently. We are currently in different time zones, we found it hard to hold meetings and the time we discussed was less. Moreover, we are a group of beginners in programming and have no experience in web development.

We did try our best to satisfy our original aims.

What we learned 🤩

We found our shortcomings, our coding skills in web development are obviously insufficient.

What's next for Animals' Friend 🐴

More interactive functions can be added, such as games that utilize AR technology in order to attract more children and promote environmental awareness.
