Finding Homes for Animals

Inspiration

There is an issue in Porterville, California, with too many animals going unwanted.

What it does

Our app allows you to find animals for adoption, and it allows you to mark where there may be stray animals in the town.

How I built it

We used MIT App Inventor

Challenges I ran into

We couldn't get the messaging to work correctly. We also had issues with getting the animal control facility to be able to post directly to our app, so we stuck with linking to their website.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

It allows us to get out information of animals that you can adopt and how to get licenses for dogs.

What I learned

We learned how to build in the call features as well as how to link to websites.

What's next for Animals

Fixing the messaging system. Making a better connection for the map and being able to place animals in a specific area.
