Animal Sightings

Inspiration

the inspiration for this project came from when we were thinking about a possible future environmental issue which then we thought about animals where as we humans continue to build and expand our society more infrastructure is build causing more deforestation, causing us to possibly lose different animal species in our area

What it does

what the program does is that the user will see the homepage which will consist of a breif introduction to our website. then the individual will go to forms where they will fill out the animals name, locations where the saw it, and the date. from that the backend program will mark the location on the map page of the website indication the sighting that will be seen as it updates with more sightings from others

How we built it

we built this program using blazor and c#, utilizing two files one with the code for the frontend and the other for the backend. in

Challenges we ran into

one challenge was that we were utilizing software that was foreign to us

the challenges we ran into were the font sizes, bad spacing with our descriptions.

we experienced issues with developing the form the structure of it, the functionality where once we got the animal name then we want the location but we also wanted the location to be saved so that the backend can then utilize said information

for the map page it was utilizing and forming the right html/blazor structure so that we can have a digital view of the map with its locations

What we learned

what we learned was the workings of the new software (blazor, html, css, c# etc) how that there is more than meets the eye when programming a website
