Inspiration

While there are a lot of Pomodoro Timers out there, all of them require extra fees for customization and other benefits. We wanted to change that! But we also wanted to spice up our timer a bit, so we took some inspiration from this video link and decided to add some anime related customizations to make our timer more fun!

What it does

By creating our pomodoro timer as a chrome extension, uses are able to easily access or product on chrome. It includes the typical countdown timer and break functions like most pomodoro timers. We also added customizability options such as background color and custom or preset work time intervals for our users. Our app is able to run in the background so you don't have to keep the app up while you are studying or taking a break.

How we built it

Tools used:

• Chrome apis (storage, scripting)
• HTML
• CSS

Challenges we ran into

• Had to learn chrome extension develop from scratch
• Had to learn Javascript from little to know prior knowledge
• Figuring out how to use the storage api to transfer data between js files took a long time
• Figuring out how to keep our timer running in the background instead of closing took of lot of time and debugging

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Getting a mostly finished product completed in ~1 day's worth of time.
• Learning new languages and how chrome extension development works

What we learned

• Learning a new language + new development platform is really hard to do in a single day

What's next for Anidoro Timer (Anime Pomodoro Timer)

• Add more customization features!
• Add Break + Anime recommendations for users
• Make background images and designs cleaner
