Inspiration

We were inspired by Gordan Ramsey and wide-spread money illiteracy.

What it does

It tracks your expenses and negatively reinforces bad money habits like impulse purchases and going over budget.

How we built it

We used Flutter and Dart to create a cross-platform IOS and Android application. We also used a SQL database to store all expenses and categories.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing bar graphs was a real hassle to tie the front end to the back end. The database stopped working mysteriously 2 hours before submission and it was a panic to get it back online.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The UI turned out nice and functions well with the back-end programming.

How to better create widgets in Flutter, how to make UI and database management.

What's next for InsultMe Budgeting App

Add levels of insults, add a subscription tracker, budget goals, receipt upload, and budget alerts.
