Inspiration

Angelview was born out of a desire to streamline and enhance the startup evaluation process for investors and incubators. We noticed that scouting early-stage startups often involved fragmented tools and manual research. Our goal was to create a unified, intelligent platform that leverages AI to analyze, organize, and present startup data in a clean, insightful way.

What it does

Angelview allows investors to:

View and manage startup pitch decks, profiles, and metrics Analyze startup performance using AI-generated insights Shortlist promising candidates for funding rounds Collaborate with team members using shared notes and filters Automate data collection from form submissions and linked sources

How we built it

We used the following technologies and architecture:

Frontend: React with Next.js, TailwindCSS for UI, and Framer Motion for seamless animations

Backend: Node.js with Express, PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM

AI Layer: OpenAI APIs for pitch summarization and scoring

Storage: AWS S3 for file uploads and backups

Authentication: Auth0 integration with JWT

Deployment: Vercel (Frontend) + Render (Backend APIs)

Challenges we ran into

Fine-tuning AI prompts to produce relevant and context-aware startup summaries

Ensuring data privacy and access control in multi-user workspaces

Maintaining smooth performance while handling large pitch decks and documents

Designing a scalable system for form intake and lead scoring pipelines
