Angels in the Graveyard

Hi, I’m Simply Rose! I joined the Meta Horizons Creator Program in October 2025 and have loved it ever since. Angels in the Graveyard is my very first mobile game. I grew up on deeply immersive titles like Kingdom Hearts and Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup, where the magic wasn’t just the mechanics. It was how the world wrapped around you. I wanted to bring a little of that feeling into a short, mobile-first experience.

In Angels in the Graveyard, players spawn on a quiet dock, read a single illustrated instruction card, tap Set Sail, and are dropped straight into a foggy colonial graveyard. The loop is simple and readable on a phone: move, collect five relics, dive into lantern-lit gazebos to stay safe, and try not to get caught.

The angels are the heart of the world and my submission for Best Memorable NPC. They patrol on fixed routes until they spot you, then their eyes flare, the audio spikes, the haptics fire on your phone, and the chase begins. Under the hood they share a hive mind. When one angel locks onto you it can call nearby angels to join if they are within range, which turns a simple patrol into a coordinated hunt.

To make sure players never feel lost, wayfinders along the edges of the island help guide you back into the action. Short two-to-three-minute runs, a clear HUD that shows your relic count and personal timer, and a global leaderboard all support the Can’t Put It Down Award. Friends can jump in together, compare times, and keep shaving seconds off their routes. I’m an artist first and a scripter second, and this project challenged me to graybox the logic first, then slowly bloom the world into something that feels both cozy and haunting on mobile. I’m excited to expand Angels in the Graveyard with additional levels that introduce new environments, patrol patterns, and more advanced NPC behaviors. Future updates will explore layered difficulty modes, dynamic events, and expanded hive-mind logic to create even more memorable encounters. My goal is to grow this into a small series of short, replayable horror-lite worlds that mobile players can enjoy in quick sessions. I hope you enjoy playing!
