Rise in illicit ads (provide phone numbers for blocking or detecting bad actors in these rings) - Indications of illicit services in operation signifiy a potential sex and labour trafficking of women and children. It may be linked to a larger network of illicit businesses. Exploitation Language (provide extracts of new and commonly used # and term data, their source and the content) - Children are at risk of being exploited online.Traffickers identify vulnerable young people through their social media presence, and once identified, traffickers often groom and control their victims through online platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Craigslist, online dating sites, and chatrooms. Traffickers also use social media to recruit victims through illegitimate job offers, and/or fraudulent or deceptive job advertisements through fake events on Facebook, posts on job recruitment sites like Craigslist, and fake business profiles. Traffickers may also contact potential victims directly, claiming to be a recruiter for a modeling agency or the owner of another kind of legitimate business.
