Inspiration

The site comes from the story of one of the participans, a venezuelan whose son, who has epilepsy, had a hard time adapting to his new life in another country.

What it does

We tell empowering stories of personal growth, give migrants tips about adapting in new countries in LatAm, as well as pedagogical information for parents and a list of professional contacts.

How I built it

Using React for web application and a Node-based API using GraphQL for Frontend and MongoDB for storage.

Challenges I ran into

Finding out stories and relevant info.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We found two awesome stories of migrants who succeeded in adapting to their new culture.

What I learned

We learned a lot about people's stories about struggling to adapt in a new country and succeeding.

What's next for Andanzas

Keep working on developing the site, focusing on mobiles.
